www.clubsational.com.au was launched in July 2007. Clubsational was born through the knowledge that Clubs have fantastic facilities to offer, that there is currently no user friendly hub for the clubs around NSW and indeed Australia from a customers perspective and that Clubs need value for their marketing spend and a cost effective means of promoting their facilities, running promotions and advertising jobs. Clubsational combines information about Clubs with my passion of marketing and the power of online technology.
I (Justine Turner Day aka Jus) spent a lot of time looking at Clubs in NSW over the past 17 years. From both working as a Bar Person whilst studying at University and my husbands career in the Club Industry. I myself enjoy visiting a Club and utilizing their facilities. I remember that when my family first moved to Australia from the UK, I loved the Sunday movie afternoons for children at the local Workers Club, it was the place to be, a great flick, chips and your very own can of soft drink – what more could a 10 year old want? There was a real sense of community.
Over the past 25 years in particular though, Clubs really have taken quantum leaps not only in the facilities that they offer but also in the diversity of their business. Fine Dining, Cafe style terrace & outdoor decor, state of the art gymnasiums, golf courses, ice rinks, child minding facilities, leisure centres, showrooms that compete with some of the major venues around NSW? This got me thinking, if Clubs have these fantastic - I call it - Sensational - facilities - why don't more people know about how much they have changed and what they offer? I think it gets back to crushing the old stereo type of how people perceive a club. We all know in marketing that....yes....perception is reality...and it can be a challenge to change - at least in the all important customers mind.
Clubs now face new challenges with significant improvements being made in facilities inline with new Anti-Smoking Laws and have to reinvent themselves to attract a new and wider patronage. The way that a Club communicates to its customers is critical and the methods that it utilises are more important than ever. More and more Clubs are looking at their unique brand and what makes them different.
We have learn't lots of lessons along the way, infact, right from the start when coming up with our name. Trying to get something unique, that was easy to remember, could be marketed in a memorable way and was trademarkable. Interestingly, with a surname like Day, we have a habit of saying ‘Have a Sensational Day’. In fact, this is how we founded the name Clubsational, by joining the words Club and Sensational. We hope you like the smile in our logo – it is how we want you to feel when you visit our website or a Sensational Club.
There is no limit to where Clubsational can go when you keep in mind what is on offer! Our Vision though is quite simply:
